The Saginaw-Tittabawassee Rivers Contamination Community Advisory Group is composed of a broad cross-section of representatives from Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties. It serves as the focal point for the exchange of information between residents and EPA, the state regulatory agencies, potentially responsible party and other federal agencies involved in site cleanup.
Because of continued high water in Lake Huron and the Saginaw and Tittabawassee River’s there were project delays in 2021. Water levels have gone back to near normals. In 2023 many projects resumed and will continue in 2025.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT PLAN
As investigation and work begin to focus on the Saginaw River and Bay, the EPA is updating the site’s Community Involvement Plan, or CIP. A CIP is a document that describes EPA-planned community involvement activities to address community needs, concerns, and expectations that are identified through community interviews and other means.
